AC3's 2X00 Economy series housings provide the most internal area of any housing we manufacture. Through the elimination of screw type fastening, it allows for a perfectly rectangular PCB contour. Integrated clips are instead used to ensure a secure joining of the two halves.
Directed at customers who have high volume production runs, the 2100 Economy series are quick to assemble, yet still have advanced features such as internal standoffs and heat stakes to quickly and efficiently install the circuit board.
The 2100 series has milling that will accept either a DB9 connector or a high density DB15.
Our 2100 series housings have two inserts that be customized as a cost effective way to brand your product. Text and images can be engraved into the plastic with an extreme amount of accuracy, precision a detail. Unlike decals, engraving will never fade or fall off over time which ensures your product can always be traced back to you. There are no per-part increases in costs; however there is a one-time tooling charge and a setup charge per run.
To make your product even more recognizable, custom colors should be a consideration. Our housings can be molded in any Pantone color; even translucent and tinted shells can be made. There is a dye surcharge, as well as a per-run setup fee however the benefits of color will quickly be realized by the ability to quickly identify your product.
If the stock cutouts of the 2100 series housing do not satisfy your product's needs, then AC3 can custom machine openings which opens up the possibility for indicator lights, switches and connections.
